Housing & Lifestyles

The communities served by the South West Regional Chamber of Commerce may be described as unique.  Many communities boast of their special features, but we believe our area brings it all together for you, your business, and your employees. Our communities, including Bridgeville, Collier, Heidelberg, Scott, and Upper St. Clair, offer small-town atmosphere, acreage for development and future expansion, and easy access to a major metropolitan area.

Our communities are safe and friendly.  Each municipality maintains an excellent police department and proudly boasts a lower than average crime rate. Eight volunteer fire departments and three emergency medical services provide quick and effective response times. These departments combine to provide a safe and worry-free living environment for our residents and businesses who have access to top rated school districts, numerous religious venues, and cultural events such as the symphony and theater.

Historically, the majority of Pittsburghers choose to live in the suburbs rather than in the inner city.  Live on a golf course or within walking distance of the center of town.  Housing opportunities exist for a variety of lifestyles — apartment complexes, townhouses, large rural estates, and suburban-type housing.  Large or small, luxurious or economical, unique or traditional, you will find many alternatives from which to choose.   Affordable housing, safe neighborhoods, and recreational facilities combine to equal a high standard of living.  We are a great place to call home.
